Volunteers are an integral part of Fox Valley Hands of Hope and the true heart of our organization. Each volunteer is valued and respected for the gifts they contribute.
Training for our volunteer programs is required. All volunteer training sessions are held at Fox Valley Hands of Hope’s facilities in Geneva. Those new to our organization who are interested in registering to attend any of the training sessions are required to first contact Adriana Torres, Manager of Volunteer Services at Fox Valley Hands of Hope (phone: 630.232.2233, extension 227; e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org).
New Volunteer Orientation
Schedule: Wednesday, April 12 from 6 to 9 p.m.
This mandatory orientation session for all new volunteers covers the history, mission and vision of Fox Valley Hands of Hope, HIPAA and other general information. This session includes a tour of our facilities in Geneva.
Schedule: Saturdays, April 22 & 29 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
AND Tuesday, April 25 from 6 to 9 p.m.
This mandatory, three-session training program is designed for volunteers interested in providing one-on-one bereavement support or facilitating an adult or children support group. Training includes material on adult grief and support group facilitation.
Patient Care Training
Make a difference in the life of someone living with a life-threatening illness. Supportive volunteer opportunities are in a one-on-one patient setting, supportive care program, or as a member of the Hands of Hope team. This five-week training course provides essential tools to enhance your experience.
This interactive training program is designed for participants interested in speaking publicly about Fox Valley Hands of Hope, our mission and our services.
