Volunteer Training

Volunteers are an integral part of Fox Valley Hands of Hope and the true heart of our organization. Each volunteer is valued and respected for their efforts. Training for our volunteer programs is required. All volunteer training sessions are held at Fox Valley Hands of Hope’s facilities in Geneva, Illinois.

If you’re new to our organization, or you are interested in registering to attend any of our volunteer training sessions, you are required to first contact Adriana Torres, Manager of Volunteer Services (phone: 630.232.2233, extension 227; e-mail: atorres@fvhh.net).

Upcoming Volunteer Training Sessions

 

New Volunteer Orientation 
Next session: Tuesday, February 13, 2018, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

This one-session mandatory orientation is for all new volunteers. The session covers the history, mission and vision of Fox Valley Hands of Hope, along with HIPAA and other general information. The session includes a tour of our facilities.

Bereavement Training:
Three-part program: Saturday, February 24, Wednesday, February 28, and Saturday, March 3, 2018

This is a mandatory, three-session training program for volunteers interested in providing one-on-one bereavement support, or facilitating an adult or children support group. Training includes material on adult grief and support group facilitation. Note: Attendance at all three sessions is required.

Saturday sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Wednesday session will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
